Indoor Garden
Not everyone has the luxury of a big beautiful yard to grow a garden. In fact, many people don’t have a yard at all, or if they do, it’s too small or their landlord won’t let them do anything with it. Just because you can’t start a garden out in your yard, doesn’t mean you can’t have a garden at all. The best option is to have an indoor garden.
An indoor garden is very flexible and can be as big or as small as you like. The best way to accomplish an indoor garden is with containers. Follow these steps to set up your own indoor garden.
Choose your Plants
Do you want to grow flowers, houseplants, herbs, fruit, or vegetables? While not every type of plant can be grown indoors, there are many that can. If you live in the north with cold winters, you can even grow plants that you can’t grow outside such as citrus trees. Of course, you should plant dwarf trees because you probably don’t have room for full grown trees.
Vegetable and fruit plants are a great way to get fresh vegetation right in your own home. You can grow strawberries, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, or others. Look into the varieties you plan to grow to see how difficult it is to grow them. Being prepared for the types of plants you choose is important to success.
You can also grow flowers indoors, although they may not last as long as other plants. Many flower pots are designed to be planted outside, although it depends on the plant. If you find a large enough container to grow it in, they will do well.
Houseplants do especially well indoors. You can put spider plants in hanging pots or grow aloe vera which you can use for topical use. Look into different varieties of house plants of that’s what you want to grow.
Start from Seed or Seedling
Starting from a seedling that you buy is easier and faster than seeds. It also make produce better results. Starting from seeds will require you to plant many seeds to grow a bunch of seedlings. You can then pick the best ones to grow in your home.
Plant your Indoor Garden
When you plant your indoor garden, try to use pretty pots because they will be just as much a part of the look you are bringing into your home. You, your family, and guests frequently move throughout your home and having a carved or painted pot will add more beauty to your home, no matter what type of plant is inside.
